Briefs

Use a brief to catch up on meaningful competitive, market, and ecosystem changes. The first run defaults to the previous 90 days; later runs continue from the prior brief with the same cap. Add a natural-language period to the prompt to override that window. Every highlight needs dated evidence, and quiet competitors stay visibly quiet instead of being padded with noise.

For a different window, add it to the prompt:

/deliberate brief for the last 30 days/deliberate:deliberate brief for the last 30 days$deliberate brief for the last 30 daysdeliberate brief for the last 30 days/deliberate brief for the last 30 daysdeliberate brief for the last 30 days@deliberate brief for the last 30 days

A grounded brief should:

  • name the actor, concrete change, dated source, and why it matters to this product;
  • keep only the few changes a founder or product manager may act on;
  • distinguish routine direct action from a consequential unresolved decision;
  • label case-worthy decisions as product, market, strategy, or platform cases;
  • create a reviewable deliberate/briefs/<date>/brief.md, where <date> is the last day of the reported period.

After the brief is saved, the agent presents the recommended cases with their triggering evidence, value of analysis now, and decision unlocked. It then offers Open for review + run cases (default), Open for review only, and Other. The default opens the brief in Sonorance and starts the case analyses without waiting for review to finish; direct actions do not become cases.
